You Mean, I get to listen to Run DMC & strut a the same time?

This deserves the 2nd runner up of the "Oh no sheh dedn't" Award.

check out:"Sonic Fabric" by Alyce Santoro

Sonic fabric emits sound when you run a tape head (the little thingy inside the
tape deck that touches the tape) over it. Because the tape retains its magnetic
quality through the weaving process, it acts as a big wide band of tape.

No Sound But More Volume

To be played simultaneously, without sound.

A broadcast of occasional movements. Or a runway

covered in hair in which the outfits are made of hair as well.

delicate weaves of hair billowed into great gowns and spring 2006/2007 blouses.

The sister of Vito Acconci's portable architechture in which Couture is self produced through hair growth.

the YouTube Broach: 2 blogs for 10 min.

So I really want a "YouTube" Broach
that I can play close to my clavicle whenever
I want.

Maybe: A 2x2inch screen with a blinging gold frame.

Purpose:
-to break the ice
-flirting device
-confidence
-it would look pretty on almost any outfit
-anyone could push play
-I can watch someone watching it
-might spark a great conversation

Any FAV/Digital Media students out there that can make this?
We can work something out,
give you a 1 hour hug.

Don't Worry Karl, It'll Get There.

Call Draper @ 1-800-238-7999
for info. about projector screens
Ask: Is it ok to cut the surface up to make a dress? Would it still work? thanks.

look at: pinkinc.org & pinkincdesign.com

Process:
1. Design a simple cut outfit.
2. Make sure it fits.
3. Make sure it will work if you use one of the projector screens as fabric.
4. Preferably the Audio-Vision screen that emits sound would be nice.

Stage:
1. Projector screens scattered around catwalk.
2. Models wearing the dresses reflect images & audio.
3. yeah right, will this ever work?
4. Audio record yourself talking (out of the dress)
5. Forget the projector screens, figure a way for the material to play images on its own.
6. Watch the stage collapse from Karl L.'s headache.

Think of a different, more inexpensive means.
This totally will not work.

Any digitally driven textile out there that can play audio/images on itself?

Karl L. did design the lovely "Piano Dress" in 1995.

Static Channel 2 Dress: in homage to Chanel?

Using pattern of television static (black&white snow)
with neon green channel # on top corner of shoulder.

Apply this to t.v. shows from 1990's.

While making this listen to Electrelane. yay.

Use Digital frickin Printer at RISD.
Call some dude named Jeff.

Digitally Print the pattern of t.v. static. Ask Jeff.
Who's Jeff anyway?

Kidnap a seamstress.

Consider using LED's to make
the static look live.

Or what about NiteBrite? yay.

Introducing Our New Line: The Blogtile

Tape-Recorder Dress:

Record sounds of functions of a dress:
buttons, zipper, texture against texture, putting on, taking off.
A dialogue of 2 dresses:
using same functions.
Then:
3,4,5,etc.

A text(ile/ure)surface of inflection: corduroy, jean, polyester, chiffon, velcro, etc.

"Sound is a primary medium in listening to the recorded voice we hear what was the thing itself...enters us by way of physical sense..if not, through material; in this way, sound returns back into itself: corduroy-sound <---> corduroy-texture.
